The certificate for the ‘Safety Culture Ladder’ (SCL) has been issued by the Dutch Accreditation Council (DAC) to Matthäi Bauunternehmen GmbH & Co. KG.
“We were very honoured to assess the second company in Germany against step 3 of the Safety Ladder”, says director Hanneke de Vries of DAC, ‘Our auditors received such hospitality during the audit. It was fantastic! This of course did not affect our assessment. Matthäi genuinely earned this certificate due to its effort and also because they really know what a culture of safety means. We saw an organisation with short lines between management, managers and operational employees. The company has a familial nature and that offers the possibility for a constant dialogue on health and safety. The organisation is very aware of what safety behaviour consists of and how it can be influenced.”
Ad Huijbregts, Safety Advisor at TenneT was also present at the presentation since Matthäi Bauunternehmen GmbH & Co. KG. is the 2nd German contractor of TenneT that obtained step 3 of the SCL.
