ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System

The ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised management system that is aimed specifically at developing a suitable environmental policy and to warrant its implementation. On the basis of the management system you are continuously improving the performances and preventing environmental pollution.

ISO 14001 sets the following requirements to the results of the management system:
Minimum compliance with the applicable legal requirements
Continuous improvement of performances and environmental pollution prevention

For whom is ISO 14001 certification interesting?

Environmental aspects are an issue for every organisation. The management system will be elementary for companies with a limited number of environmental aspects. The ISO 14001 standard indicates the frameworks. The organisation decides how it is implemented. A management system is developed on the basis of the organisation. All types of organisations, large or small, profit or non-profit, can benefit from implementing the environmental management system.

How would you benefit from ISO 14001 certification?

The certificate demonstrates that your organisation meets all the requirements of the standard. The certificate is furthermore a valuable communication tool vis-à-vis clients, supervisors, local residents or other relations that are interested in the environmental performances of your organisation.

The ISO 14001 Management system will eventually lead to:
New insights into own processes
Systematic approach that leads to improvement
Fewer mistakes
Internationally recognisable and recognised certificate
Cost savings
Increase in clients and/or orders
A certificate that demonstrates your responsibility when it comes to the environment
The costs for an ISO 14001 certification depend on a number of factors, such as:

Number of standards to certify
Number of private companies and/or (branch) offices
Number of full time employees (FTEs)
The environmental aspects that apply to your company
Work that has to be certified
